The annual Food Expo will return to Wan Chai's Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 14th. Four other fairs will also run concurrently.

The five-day Food Expo will offer a series of global gourmet food and drink items, coming from places such as Hong Kong, mainland and Thailand.

While these mooncakes look the same as the other traditional ones, their flavours are innovative, including curry beef brisket.

The exhibitor says they wish to create mooncakes that can surprise the taste buds of Hong Kong people.

HOWARD, Exhibitor: "You see people are interested in Keto (diet), or are more health concerned. So, we invented mooncakes using beef or pork, making a new flavour of mookcake. Just be more creative."

Speaking to the media, the fair's organiser, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, hopes the number of visitors can catch up the previous year -- 500,000.

SOPHIA CHONG, Deputy Executive Director, HKTDC: "We welcome a lot of Greater Bay Area tourists, who can really have a one-day travel because of the convenience of the train service. Hopefully, we can achieve as many (visitors) as last year because this year we have stepped up a lot of social media publicity."

Free admission will be offered to children aged three or below and senior citizens aged 65 or above. Individuals must present valid proof of age.
