U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered federal prosecutors to launch a grand jury investigation into Obama era officials' handling of Russian interference in the 2016 election, which Donald Trump alleged was fabricated to undermine his campaign. 

Meanwhile, the White House defended Trump's move to fire labour statistics head following Friday's soft jobs report. NBC reports.
