NBC News reports that work ground to a halt in Texas' state capital after Democratic lawmakers fled to avoid debating a controversial gerrymandering redistricting map.

The remaining members opted to send for the missing lawmakers under warrant of arrest.

At issue the Republican plan to redraw the states congressional lines. The move sent 50 Democratic lawmakers fleeing to other states around the country.
