Students gathered in Bangladesh to call for stability and an end to political deadlock, a year on from the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hassina.

A massive student uprising ended her 15-year rule last August. Hundreds were killed by lethal violence during their protest. These young people say their friends died in vain
because not much has changed.

They say their hopes for a transparent democracy and respect for human rights has not materialised. Bickering parties have failed to reach agreement on the timing of elections which look unlikely to take place this year.
