Hong Kong continues to be hit by downpours with the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal issued for an hour at noon.

To cope with the threat of flooding, the Drainage Services Department dispatched 90 teams to inspect and clear flooding spots in various districts.

The Observatory warns of heavy rain in the early hours of tomorrow.

Torrential rain pounded multiple districts across the city, as a result of the active southwest monsoon and upper-air disturbances.

The Hong Kong Observatory hoisted the Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal at 6:30 this morning.

Drivers in Tseung Kwan O found it challenging, as it was difficult to see the situation ahead.

The rainstorm warning was removed after two-and-a-half hours, until the second issurance at 10:25 a.m.

Kowloon Tong was hit hard as well, flooding could be seen on roads and at pedestrain crossings near Waterloo Road.

Vehicles were moving slowly along the road.

Water levels were up to knee height.

At 12:20 p.m., heavy rain triggered the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal, which lasted for around an hour.

Areas such as Tai Po and Sha Tin experienced the greatest rainfall.

The weather forecaster said the southwest monsoon is bringing heavy showers and squally thunderstorms to the coast of southern China and the northern part of the South China Sea.

Lee Shuk-ming, Senior Scientific Officer of HKO said, "we expect the weather tomorrow will still be unsettled. We expect it will be overcast with occasional heavy showers and squally thunderstorms."

The forecaster predicts unstable weather on Tuesday and Wednesday, with showers weakening on Thursday.
