Local organ transplant patients ready for World Transplant Games

A total of 44 organ transplant recipients will compete in this month's World Transplant Games in Germany.
Hong Kong transplant athletes have competed in the international sports event since 2007.
In a ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hong Kong Transplant Sports Association said the athletes, aged between seven and 81, hope to express their gratitude to organ donors through competing in the Games.
Under Secretary for Health, Cecilia Fan, said about 400,000 people have so far signed up on the Centralised Organ Donation Register.
While the figure is a record high, Fan said the government will continue to promote organ donation in the city.
