CHP warns high risk of imported chikungunya fever

As for now, some 6,100 chikungunya fever cases have been recorded in neighbouring Guangdong province.
The Centre for Health Protection noted that there is a high risk that the fever could be transmitted to Hong Kong.
About 90 percent of the chikungunya fever cases have been reported in Foshan, where an anti-mosquito campaign will be held for a week.
In Hong Kong, the Housing Department said it has stepped up mosquito prevention work in all public housing estates, such as inspecting public areas and flower beds, detecting breeding grounds, installing mosquito traps and among others.
