Yan On Mansion in Kwun Tong, which has been without power since Tuesday, could see full power restored as early as tomorrow afternoon.
Under heavy rainfall on Tuesday when the Black Rainstorm Warning was issued, a suspected short circuit in the meter room at Yan On Mansion caused a fire, leading to a power outage.
Workers replaced the burned electrical box this morning.
The management company's representative previously revealed that the repair work cost will not exceed $200,000, so it does not require approval from the owners' corporation. A meeting will be held tonight to brief owners on the progress of the work.
A charity group set up a street stall at the building entrance, distributing supplies to residents.
