Tsunami waves cross the Pacific after 8.8 quake in Russia

After an 8.8 earthquake struck Russia's eastern region Wednesday, tsunami waves crossed the Pacific Ocean reaching Hawaii, California and Washington state in the U.S.

People scrambled as buildings crumbled in Russia, a kindergarten was destroyed, no children were there at the time. And tiles were ripped off an airport ceiling.

The quake was one of the biggest ever recorded. Several people were injured, but none gravely. NBC News has more.
