Three suspected Pakistani militants killed in Kashmir after gunbattle with Indian authorities

India says three Pakistani nationals were killed earlier this week in Kashmir in a joint operation by the military, paramilitary and police. The gunbattle occurred on the outskirts of the region's main city of Srinagar.
The three Pakistani nationals were suspected militants linked to a shooting massacre earlier this year.
Twenty-six people, mostly Hindu tourists, died in that incident which also led to a military clash between India and Pakistan.
India blamed the attack on Pakistan, which denied responsibility. After U.S. mediation, a ceasefire was reached in May.
