Power not fully restored in Yan On Mansion in Kwun Tong

During yesterday's heavy rain, a suspected short circuit in the electricity meter room of Yan On Mansion in Kwun Tong caused smoke and power outage in some residential units and ground floor shops.
As of Wednesday morning, power was still not fully restored.
The underground meter room, which was burned yesterday, was severely blackened and covered with white canvas. A burning odor was still detected at the scene, and the elevator had to be temporarily suspended.
Some restaurants posted notices stating that they were temporarily closed due to power outages.
Police received a report from the building's security guard at around 9 a.m. yesterday regarding a suspected short circuit in the meter room, which caused fire and smoke. No one was injured, but a widespread power outage followed.
After a day of emergency repairs, power was restored to the Hong Ning Road side of Yan On Mansion at around 8 p.m. yesterday, but power was still not restored to the Tung Ming Street side.
