U.S. President Donald Trump is giving Russian President Vladimir Putin 10 to 12 days to stop the killing in Ukraine, shortening a 50-day deadline he had given the Russian leader two weeks ago.
U.S. President Donald Trump said: "I'm going to make a new deadline of about 10.. 10 or 12 days from today. There's no reason in waiting. There's no reason in waiting. It's 50 days. I want to be generous, but we just don't see any progress being made. There's no reason to wait. If you know what the answer is going to be, why wait? And it would be sanctions and maybe tariffs, secondary tariffs."
Trump spoke candidly about his disappointment in Putin and not being able to broker a deal between Russia and Ukraine, telling reporters he never thought this would happen.
"I thought we'd be able to negotiate something. And maybe that will still happen, but it's very late down the process," he said.
