Military commanders from Thailand and Cambodia have announced a truce after holding talks today to end five days of border clashes.
Calm returned to the disputed border region as displaced residents began trickling back home. This family had evacuated and stayed with relatives about 80 kilometres away.
They returned to their border village this morning with the few belongings they had grabbed before they fled.
A village chief said around 400 residents had evacuated with 60 village leaders staying behind to take care of the belongings of those who had left.
Thai and Cambodian leaders met in Malaysia on Monday and agreed to a ceasefire deal to halt their deadliest conflict in more than a decade.
The ceasefire comes after dozens were killed in the five days of border clashes.
