Stablecoins Ordinance to take effect on Friday

The Stablecoins Ordinance will come into force on Friday.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority says no licences have been issued yet. HKMA says interested parties are encouraged to reach out to them by the end of August.
Licensing requirements include having a physical company in Hong Kong, with "high-quality and highly liquid" financial resources.
Issuers should also meet regulatory requirements in anti-money laundering and risk management.
