Train derailment in southwestern Germany kills 3 and injures more

In Germany, three people were killed and others seriously injured when a passenger train derailed in the country's southwest region near the borders of France and Switzerland.
Around 100 passengers were on board the train when two carriages left the tracks near the town of Riedlingen about 160 kilometers west of Munich.
The incident happened around 6:10 p.m.
Storms had passed through the area before the crash and investigators are determining if the rain was a factor.
In a post on social media platform X German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, said he mourned the victims and gave his condolences to their families.
