Beijing on Sunday said the result of a major recall election in Taiwan shows the political manipulation of the Democratic Progressive Party
is not working.
The first round of the recall eleciton, which decides the fate of 24 Kuomintang lawmakers, was held on Saturday.
In Beijing, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said the Democratic Progressive Party does not care about the welfare of the people
and attempts to create "green terror" to eliminate its political opposition.
On Saturday, attempts to unseat the 24 lawmakers were rejected.
The second round of the vote to recall another group of lawmakers will take place in August.
