Shooter who killed a teenager at the University of New Mexico appears in court

The suspect in a shooting at the University of New Mexico last week has made his first court appearance. 

John Fuentes, 18, killed a 14-year-old boy, wounded a 19-year-old and prompted the evacuation of hundreds of students last Friday,
before he was apprehended by police. 

The campus in Albuquerque will remain closed during the ongoing investigation.

Students are allowed to eat at the dining hall and return to their dorms but otherwise have to  avoid the crime scene.
