Hong Kong Disneyland is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The theme park's Managing Director expects the new expansion plans and promotion strategies will attract more tourists.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Hong Kong Disneyland launched new parades and night shows at the end of last month.
It's Managing Director, Michael Moriarty, shared future business growth plans during an interview.
He said that the park is expected to pay off its government loans by the end of this year, and will be debt-free.
New attractions including the Marvel-themed experiences and the Pixar entertainment offering have no need for additional cash injections from the shareholders.
Michael Moriarty said that the sources of tourists in the first half of this year is very similar to that of last year.
He said Disney welcomes the government's, "Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles" policy.
To further facilitate tourists from the Greater Bay Area, Disney will launch one-day round-trip transportation and ticket packages.
It will also cooperate with travel platforms, to launch concert packages to attract overseas tourists.
"These parking spaces and work that are being proposed in Lantau, are very interesting," said Moriarty. "It has a way of making it more friction-free for travellers to come to Hong Kong. We are actively working with the government on this project. We're working on ways to facilitate that, whether it's bundling our ticket and hotels, with travel back and forth across the boundary to make that more attractive."
Michael also said Hong Kong Disneyland will continue their partnerships with the Hong Kong government, Hong Kong Tourism Board, and industry partners, to promote Hong Kong as a must-see destination in the region.
