Second teen death this week related to suspected drug use

A 16-year-old was found unconscious at his home in Heng Fa Chuen and was later confirmed dead at hospital, with police subsequently seizing suspected drugs in his room.
Authorities believe the narcotics are linked to his death. It is the second death this week involving a teenager with suspected drugs.
The incident took place in a residential unit in block 21 of Heng Fa Chuen.
The police said they were alerted by the teen's mother after she found him in an unconscious state and at around 7 p.m. on Thursday. He was later confirmed dead at hospital.
Police officers subsequently found two e-cigarettes, a bag containing 14 grams of marijuana and a cup containing suspected amphetamine inside a bag in the teen's room.
Earlier this week, a 17-year-old teen of Pakistani-descent was found dead in a similar state, with authorities later finding etomidate and other drugs in his room.
A lawmaker raised concerns about students increasingly coming into contact wtih narcotics during the summer break.
