New tropical storms not expected to impact HK directly

Tropical Storm Co-May has intensified into a severe tropical storm.
At 10 a.m., Co-May was centred about 340 kilometres west-northwest of Manila. It is forecast to be slow-moving and linger over the northern part of Luzon.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Francisco was centred about 210 kilometres south of Okinawa. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.
The Observatory does not expect they will directly impact Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, the Very Hot Weather Warning has been issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 6:45 a.m.
Under the influence of prolonged heat, members of the public should stay on the alert to prevent heat stroke or other discomforts related to very hot weather and pay due attention to health conditions.
