In the Changlu Hangu Salt Field in Tianjin, different colours of each salt pan were visible.
This is caused by the presence of halophilic bacteria in the salt crystallisation pools.
Halophile organisms purify the water and multiply in large quantities during summer and fall, causing the pools have this striking and colourful appearance.
