A sightseeing ship collided with China Merchants Wharf in Kennedy Town when typhoon Wipha hit the city on Sunday.

It is understood that the owner of the ship is making arrangements to tow the ship away.

Two days after the storm, the ship "M/V Dragon Pearl" was still at the China Merchants Wharf, and there were suspected dents on the starboard side.

Marine Department staff boarded the ship before noon and took photos for record.

The Department said they had contacted the ship owner to arrange for an inspection of the ship's condition.

According to the law, after a ship collision, the ship owner, the ship owner's agent or the captain must immediately report to the Director of the Marine Department and must submit details in writing within 24 hours after the incident.

The Marine Department said that it is investigating and will follow up and prosecute if any violation of the Maritime Ordinance is found.
