Israel has conducted a series of airstrikes in the heart of the Syrian capital Damascus, in what it said was a response to the recent escalation of violence against the Druze minority.
Syrian state media reported at least 13 people wounded.
Plumes of smoke were seen rising around the Syrian Defence Ministry headquarters in Umayyad Square. The attacks also hit near the presidential palace outside of the capital city.
Violence broke out over the weekend in the southern Syrian city of Sweida between the government forces and Druze fighters.
Tel Aviv has said it will not allow the Damascus government to deploy troops in the south of the country.
A Syria military personnel said government forces were held back by Israeli strikes despite having reached "significant progress."
