Frozen yoghurt sample found bacteria 3+ times of legal limits

A frozen yogurt sample from a juice shop in Kowloon City was found to contain more than three times the legal limit of total bacteria.
The shop in question is located in the basement of the AIRSIDE mall in Kowloon City.
The Centre for Food Safety collected the sample from a retail shop with a frozen confection factory licence in Kowloon City for testing under its routine Food Surveillance Programme.
According to the test results, 120 coliform bacteria per gram and 220 000 bacteria per gram were found in the sample, both exceeding the legal limits.
Authorities said that the excessive level indicated unsatisfactory hygiene of the product but did not indicate that it would cause food poisoning.
