The Legislative Council held a cocktail reception to exchange views with the Consuls General and Honorary Consuls in Hong Kong.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Legislative Council Andrew Leung says Hong Kong has gained resilience after overcoming challenges over the past few years.

ANDREW LEUNG, Legislative Council President: "From the 2019 riots to the COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequent economic downturn, the city's core foundation has been tested. Yet, Hong Kong has emerged resilient. In the past two and a half years, our goverment has assisted 1,300 companies from overseas and the mainland set up and expand their business in Hong Kong, bringing in foreign direct investment of more than 160 billion dollars. These are not the signs of dead city. These are the signs of city alive with great potential and unlimited opportunities. Hong Kong is definitely not over."
