Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang says the technology group plans to resume sales of its H20 artificial intelligence chip to China after it received approval from the Trump administration.

"I'm announcing that the U.S. government has approved for us filing licences to start shipping H20s, so we will start to sell H20s to the Chinese Market, and I am looking forward to shipping H20s very soon. I'm very happy with that, with the very good news," says Huang.

Huang has arrived in Beijing and can be seen in online photos with Xiaomi Corporation's founder and chairman Lei Jun.

Huang recently met with the U.S. President and other U.S. policymakers, and is in the Chinese capital this week to attend the China International Supply Chain Expo, where Nvidia is an exhibitor.

The White House announced in April that it would restrict sales of the H20 chips to China.

Huang and other technology leaders have been lobbying Trump to reverse the restrictions, arguing that export controls could end up pushing other countries towards China's AI technology.

When asked about the latest Nvidia news, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Beijing firmly opposes the politicisation, instrumentalisation and weaponisation of technology and economic-trade issues.
