Typhoon Nari lashes northern Japan

Typhoon Nari made landfall on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido. It's the first typhoon to do so in nine years.
People heading into the office tackled high winds and heavy rain.
Residents in the north have been told to remain vigilant with winds hitting close to 90 kilometres per hour. Nari is weakening now and has moved out to sea.
Japan's fifth typhoon of 2025 formed over the weekend around 200 kilometres south of Chichijima Island. The system moved along Japan's eastern coast before hitting Hokkaido.
