The police are searching for a man who pushed a 9-year-old boy into the sea. The child suffered minor injuries.
The incident happened at the seaside of Hoi Sham Park.
Authorities received reports at around 5 p.m. on Saturday of man of Chinese-descent in his 20s pushing a 9-year-old boy into the sea while the child was fishing with his mother.
He managed to make his way back to shore and suffered mild injuries to his right hand and knee. The boy remained conscious when he was sent to hospital for treatment.
The suspect subsequently fled towards Whampoa. Sources said the victim did not know the man.
The police have listed the case as assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
