Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said thank you to Donald Trump as the U.S. President's special envoy Keith Kellogg held talks with Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
It came hours after Trump said the U.S. will send "sophisticated" military equipment including Patriot missile defence systems to Ukraine.
Kellogg travelled into the Ukrainian capital by train and was met by the head of the President's office before he was taken to see Zelenskyy.
The pair held talks as Trump's relationship with Zelenskyy appears to be improving after a very public argument in the Oval Office earlier this year.
As Trump offered Ukraine more military equipment, he was critical of Russian leader Vladimir Putin who Trump says "talks nice but then bombs people."
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: "We are thankful to President Trump for his messages, and very strong decisions about resuming deliveries for us. And we are thankful for bipartisan support. And, of course, we had very good conversation in (the) Hague, with President (Trump), and we had very good phone conversation. We made some decisions, very positive for both countries and just now we spoke about air defence."
