The Israeli military released video Thursday claiming to show troop operations in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

This as the U.N. Human Rights Office said at least 786 people have been killed while trying to receive food aid in Gaza since the end of May.

And the economy in war torn Gaza is shattered with basic essentials, and even cash in short supply.

Palestinians use the Israeli currency shekel for most transactions as nearly all banks and ATMs in Gaza are inoperable.

Cash is in short supply in war-torn Gaza, banks are closed and ATMs out of service.

People have to rely on an unrestrained network of powerful cash brokers to get money for daily expenses - and commissions on those transactions have soared to about 40 percent.

This Gaza City resident said: "The prices are very high, we are unable to bear the commission. Our life is very difficult in dealing with merchants."

The high commissions and soaring unemployment has given rise to this man's new endeavour - repairing damaged bank notes.

It costs between three and 10 shekels or about 1 to 3 U.S. dollars to repair old bank notes. But notes repaired with tape or other means are sometimes rejected.

This Gaza City resident said that the merchants often object to the cash even though there is no problems with it. They used to reject 10 shekels but now they are refusing 20 and 50 shekels.

Many people have resorted to selling their possessions just to buy essential goods.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military released a video showing troop operations in the southern Gazan city of Khan Younis.

Another video shows the bombing of tunnels also in Khan Younis. This as the Israeli offensive has killed more than 57,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
