Tropical Storm Danas headed for China's eastern seaboard today as Zhejiang and Fujian provinces braced for its landfall.
Packing winds of around 80 kilometres per hour at its centre, Danas is forecast to move west or west-southwest in the general direction of Zhejiang.
Forecasters also anticipate Danas to batter neighbouring Fujian Province, prompting the local maritime authority to suspend passenger shipping.
Rail authorities have announced the suspension of some train services passing through Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Taizhou and Wenzhou.
This as Danas is also expected to usher in persistent downpour to Guangdong, Jiangxi and Hunan provinces.
