The police started drone patrols in the border region and Kowloon West last month.

Commissioner of Police Joe Chow said four cases were cracked with the help of drones.

He said more drones will soon patrol the Peak and Cheung Chau.

The police chief shared the results of the drone patrol scheme with the Yau Tsim Mong District Council.

He said among the four cases assisted by the drones, two were related to the space oil drug.

He added that 1,315 more sets of CCTV will be installed in public areas, on top of the 615 already set up in the city.

He said the force will look into using AI to help with facial recogination.
