Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on Gaza and Iran at the White House.
At the beginning of the meeting, Netanyahu surprised Trump with a letter he had sent to the Nobel Peace Prize committee, nominating the U.S. leader for the prize.
Netanyahu commended Trump's peacemaking efforts "in one country, in one region after the other". He said Israel would collaborate with the United States to bring peace to the entire Middle East, adding they are working to find countries that will "give Palestinians a better future" - a hint that the residents of Gaza could move to neighbouring nations.
On Sunday, Trump expressed confidence that he would broker a peace deal with Netanyahu this coming week. He said during his dinner with Netanyahu that Hamas is willing to end the 21-month conflict in Gaza.
