Customs seize $2.4 million worth of drugs at airport

Customs seized about 2.4 million dollars worth of suspected cannabis buds and e-cigarettes containing cannabis oil in a drug trafficking case at the airport.

Customs said that they seized about 11.2 kilograms of suspected cannabis buds and 50 sticks of e-cigarettes suspected to contain cannabis oil in the luggage of a 38-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from Bangkok, Thailand during customs clearance. 

The man was charged with trafficking dangerous drugs and will appear in the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on Saturday. Customs reminds that it is a serious offence to traffick dangerous drugs. 

The penalty entails a maximum fine of 5 million dollars and life imprisonment upon conviction.
