Hong Kong mourns the death of veteran actors.

Jacky Lin looks back at their life on and off the screen.

Veteran actress Suet Nay's family issued the obituary, saying that she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer and passed away at hospital on Thursday.

She was 77.

Her husband Tong Kai died on June 23rd -- just ten days before.

The couple had been married for 56 years and their memorial service will be held on July 14th, with the funeral taking place the next day.

In the 1960s, Suet was a chief martial arts actress in Cantonese films.

Her breakout role was in a 1966 movie, "The Dark Heroine Mu Lanhua."

She married martial arts choreographer Tong Kai in 1969 and stepped away from the limelight until returning on-screen in 1997.

Her renditions of roles including the mothers and grandmas of main characters in TVB drama series.

In 2013, she won the "Outstanding Actor Award" at the TVB Anniversary Gala Show -- where she thanked her husband for his constant support and steadfast love.

Also leaving us was another familiar face to many Hong Kong viewers: Chow Chung.

In a career spanning some 70 years, Chow starred in over 80 productions.

In 2016, Chow was honoured with the TVB lifetime achievement award at the broadcaster's Gala Show.

Receiving the accolade, Chow said he hoped to bring endless joy and warmth to audiences around the world.

In later years, he was affectionately known as TVB's go-to grandfather.

After his contract ended in 2020, he retired from the screen to care for his wife who was battling cancer.
