The Standby Signal, No. 1, was issued at 12:20 p.m by the Observatory. 

This means that a tropical cyclone now centred within about 800 kilometres of Hong Kong may affect us. Please consider the changes in weather when planning activities. Beware that strong winds may occur over offshore waters.
