China launches new test satellite into space

China conducted a new launch for a test satellite earlier today in southwest Sichuan Province.
A Long March-4C carrier rocket blasted off from the Xichang launch centre at 5:35 p.m., placing a satellite into space.
The Shiyan-28B 01 has successfully entered the preset orbit, and will be mainly used for space environment exploration and related technology tests, according to state media.
This marks the 583rd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
