John Lee said Shandong fleet represents high-quality development by nation's defence

Chief Executive John Lee made a welcome speech for the Shandong fleet on behalf of the HKSAR government and Hong Kong citizens.

He said this year marks the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the 28th anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army's entry into Hong Kong, and the fifth anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law.

Lee said the visit of the Shandong fleet to Hong Kong at this historical moment is particularly exciting. It represents the high-quality development by the nation's defence and the rapid development of the nation's science and technology.

The CE noted that the visit of the Shandong fleet to the city will allow Hong Kong citizens to experience the majesty and advancement of the country's modernised warships, and better understand the achievements of nation's defense modernisation.
