The U.S. is reimposing strict measures against Cuba as President Trump reverses concessions brought in by his predecessor Joe Biden.

Trump renewed a ban on transactions with Cuban military connections.

Biden had loosened those restrictions.

U.S. tourism to Cuba remains officially banned as part of strict economic embargoes on the communist country.

Trump had already repealed a Biden decision and kept Cuba on a list of sponsors of terrorism.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has called Trump's actions an "aggressive economic blockade."

An early casualty of rule-tightening is a Cuban volleyball team.

The women's national team has been denied visas for a tournament in Puerto Rico in a fortnight.

This was because Cubans are on a list of 12 nationalities banned by Trump last month.
