U.S. President Donald Trump plans to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on July 7th, according to U.S. officials speaking on condition of anonymity.

This comes as the U.S. president has pressed for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and the return of remaining hostages.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces killed at least 74 people in Gaza on Monday with airstrikes that left 30 dead at a popular seaside cafe.

Tracey Furniss has more.

This is all that was left of the Al Baqa Cafe in Gaza City after an Israeli airstrike Monday.

A crater where just hours before tables had been laid for families to gather around. The cafe had been crowded with children, women and families.

Now, only upturned tables, broken chairs and shoes belonging to victims among the rubble.

This witness said an F-16 warplane, not a drone or a missile, struck the place.

Thirty people were killed here and dozens wounded, many critically.

The restaurant was only one of a few businesses open during the 20-month war and was a gathering place for those seeking internet access or to charge their phones.

People were also killed and wounded in the southern Gazan city of Khan Younis as they were returning from an aid site associated with the Israeli and U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Fund.

Nasser Hospital in the city said it received bodies of people that had been shot. Gaza's Health Ministry said Israeli forces killed 11 people.

It was part of a deadly pattern that has claimed the lives of more than 500 Palestinians in the chaotic and controversial aid distribution programme over the past month.

And in the Israeli-occupied West Bank Sunday, Israeli settlers attacked a military base setting fires, vandalising vehicles and clashing with soldiers.

The unrest follows recent settler violence and arrests by Israeli security forces.

Settlers last week had entered a Palestinian town, setting property ablaze and firing guns.Three Palestinians were killed after military intervention.

This as Israeli government spokesman David Mencer said the obstacle to ending the war in Gaza "lies with Hamas."

Israeli government spokesman David Mencer said: "The prime minister is working to end the campaign in Gaza through the release of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas as soon as possible. The obstacle lies with Hamas, but we are working through various means to overcome it."
