Iran's Guardian Council announced that it ratified a parliamentary bill to suspend cooperation with IAEA. This as the country's supreme leader made his first public statement since a ceasefire was declared in Israel-Iran war.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed victory over Israel in a speech broadcast on state TV and declared Israel was almost knocked down and crushed.
He said the U.S. directly engaged in the war, convinced that the "Zionist regime" would be destructed if it refused to intervene.
Khamenei also downplayed the impact of U.S. blows on Iranian nuclear sites, which he said failed to achieve anything significant.
In reference to Monday's retaliatory missile attacks on one of the largest U.S. military bases in the Middle East, he contended Iran delivered "a harsh slap" in its face, and would never surrender.
"Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price," he said.
