China announced it will hold a grand military parade in Beijing's Tiananmen Square in September to mark the victory against Japanese aggression and the end of World War Two.
President Xi Jinping will inspect the troops and deliver an important speech.
Beijing unveiled plans to stage a military parade as this year marks the 80th anniversary of Japan's unconditional surrender in the Second World War.
The momentous event will take place on September 3rd, a decade after China held its first Victory Day Parade in 2015.
Marching formations, armoured columns and aerial echelons will be on public display to showcase traditional and new-domain forces that cover a full spectrum of combat capabilities, such as unmanned intelligent systems, drones, underwater combat units, cyber and electronic forces, and hypersonic weapons.
For the first time, a militia formation will join the major parade commemorating the victory.
The State Council Information Office held a press briefing on Tuesday.
Wu Zeke from the People's Liberation Army's Joint Staff Department stressed all the weapons to be displayed will be active-duty main battle equipment that are domestically produced.
Wu also mentioned that the PLA's new structure, created through reforms, will appear in the marching units.
He told reporters that the Chinese military's armaments development will demonstrate its ability to adapt to technological trends, which will prevail in future wars.
Executive vice minister of the Publicity Department, Hu Heping, said the triumph of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was a historical turning point, and a crucial part of the global victory in the Anti-Fascist War.
Hu noted the Chinese people will never forget the valuable contributions made by the international community.
China will invite foreign leaders and diplomats, military attaches, as well as international friends to attend the commemoration activities.
It is reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and surviving veterans from the Kuomintang army that fought against the Japanese invasion are among those expected to attend.
