Hundreds of thousands Zhaoqing Huaji County residents affected by floodwater

Across the border in Guangdong Zhaoqing's Huaji County, at least 300 thousand residents are affected by floodwater.
Huaji has been hit by severe rainstorms since the past weekend. More than 80 percent of the county is now flooded with water measured more than 3 metres at one point.
County officials say that around 70,000 people have to be evacuated from their homes during the "100-year flood". Many villages are still without electricity.
The National Development and Reform Commission is providing 60 million RMB as emergency funding to tackle the disaster's aftermarth.
