HK's incoming talents include Nobel Prize and Oscar winners

Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan said Hong Kong has managed to lure talent from different backgrounds, including Nobel Prize and Oscar winners. The administration has made attracting talent to the city a priority.

A number of snooker stars have become Hong Kong residents, such as Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump.

Speaking to the media, Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan, also the chairman of the Committee on Education, Technology and Talents, said talent who arrived in Hong Kong are from a diverse backgrounds.

He said some were winners of the Nobel Prize and Academy Awards.

As of May this year, 210,000 people have arrived in Hong Kong after their applications were approved.

Chan said the applicants' average age is 35 years old, which can help the city ease the issue of an ageing population and boost its economy.
