President Xi Jinping pledges aid to Central Asian countries at 2nd China-Central Asia Summit

President Xi Jinping signed the deal in person as China and five participating Central Asian countries agree a friendship pact.
At the China-Central Asia Summit in Kazakhstan, China pledged 1.5 billion yuan this year to support livelihood and development projects.
At the Palace of Independence, Xi was welcomed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Xi said the signing of the Treaty of Permanent Good-Neighbourliness and Friendly Cooperation marked a milestone in relations among the six nations.
He said there will be no winners in the tariff and trade war and the world should not be divided but united.
Xi also announced the establishment of three cooperation centres under the China-Central Asia cooperation framework with focuses on poverty alleviation.
