The Consumer Council has received close to 1,000 cases of complaints against food delivery platforms in the first five months of this year. The Council reminds operators to improve their service levels.

The complaints include delivery timing issues, as well as wrong deliveries. In one case, before the food was delivered, the order had already shown an "arrived" message. In the end, the delivery was delayed by one hour.

However, due to a further error shown in the system, the platform did not compensate the customer until a complaint was made to the Consumer Council.

In another case, the customer cancelled the order one minute after ordering, but did not receive a refund.

The Council reminds the delivery platforms to improve their service, including enhancing the transparency of the ordering system and process.
