Police arrested nine people suspected of being involved in a triad brawl in Cheung Sha Wan in the early hours of Saturday that left one man dead.
One of them was suspected of manslaughter.
Authorities are still hunting down several individuals who have escaped.
Online footage showed two groups of people gathered on opposite sides of the street, before one side engages the other with baton-shaped weapons.
The police received reports at 3 a.m. on Saturday of two groups of people fighting around Hing Wah Street and Shun Ning Road in Cheung Sha Wan.
Both sides fled after the confrontation.
Police officers subsequently found a 68-year-old man lying unconscious on Hing Wah Street, who was later confirmed dead at hospital.
He was involved in the fight and was injured by a hard object.
Investigations indicate both parties belonged to triad groups, and that the brawl was debt-related.
The police arrested five men and four women aged between 27 and 44.
One of them, a 39-year-old man, is under investigation for suspected manslaughter.
