At Queen's Hill Estate and Shan Lai Court in Fanling, the Home Affairs Department said the number of bitumen-related complaints from residents this week has dropped significantly.

It said every case received has been followed up immediately.

For individual cases requiring more investigations, the department would work with the Water Supplies Department and the Housing Department to conduct visitation and inspection efforts as soon as possible.

Care teams have been dispatched to reach out to more than 900 households. Most of them said they did not need to follow up efforts in relation to bitumen cases.

In addition, in order to continuously monitor water quality, the government has taken water samples from 13 buildings in Queen's Hill Estate and Shan Lai Court for testing in the past four days, and will continue to conduct sampling next Saturday.
