Eight people have been arrested on suspicion of participating in illegal street racing.

One of them allegedly drove a decommissioned police car and was charged with impersonating the police.

The footage provided by the police shows the suspected scenes of multiple vehicles engaging in high-speed races in Kowloon Bay on May 17th.

One of the cars appeared to be a police vehicle.

Another online clip captures six vehicles weaving through traffic in Tsuen Wan at speeds topping 120 km/h, nearly twice the legal limit.

Police arrested eight men aged between 19 and 30, including six locals and two non-ethnic Chinese, on Thursday in connection with the case.

They include a 29-year-old owner of the fake police car who is a surveyor.

It is understood that the police found two more decommissioned police cars in the garage of a suspect, and are investigating why there are retired police cars traded in the market.
