Brazilian President describes situation in Gaza as premeditated genocide

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte hosted Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and First Lady Ros ngela Lula da Silva for a state dinner at the Elysee palace on Thursday.
The Brazilian leader is in France for a state visit from June 5 to 9 aimed at deepening bilateral ties in key areas such as defense, economy, biodiversity protection and energy transition.
President Lula described the situation in Gaza as a "premeditated genocide" in a news conference.
Speaking alongside the French President , Lula said "what is happening in Gaza is not a war. What is happening in Gaza is a genocide carried out by a highly prepared army against women and children."
"We cannot accept a war that does not exist, but rather a premeditated genocide by an extreme right-wing leader who is waging a war, including against the interests of his own people", added Lula.
